
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. He is one of the chief executive officers (CEOs) of Alphabet Inc., its subsidiary Google and was born in Madurai in India.[4Pichai graduated with a degree in metallurgical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. After moving to the United States, Pichai earned an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He then earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. Following a brief stint at McKinsey and Co. as a management consultant Pichai was hired by Google in 2004 to head the innovation and management of products for several of Google's client products. These comprised ChromeOS as well as ChromeOS. Additionally, he led Google Drive. He also oversees the development of Google Maps, Gmail, as well as other applications. In 2010 Pichai also announced the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 created by Google and introduced the new video format, WebM. In 2012, the Chromebook was introduced. Pichai also included Android to the Google products that he managed in 2013.
